Invoice / Packing list / Certificate of Origin
An invoice and packing list issued and endorsed by the shipper play crucial roles in clearing from customs. An invoice is a commercial document issued by a seller, relating to a sale transaction and indicating the products, quantities, origin, and the prices for products the seller had provided the buyer.
The packing list provides a detailed list of the contents of a shipment. It includes information about the packaging, such as the item, type of packaging, weight, dimensions, and any special handling instructions.
A Certificate of Origin is a document issued by a government authorized body or chamber of commerce at origin, that certifies the country of origin of goods being exported. If the country of origin is mentioned on the invoice, you do not require a separate certificate of origin in case of general cargo.
